ija, went for squid instead........ but no success....... then yesterday afternoon went light ledgering and had loads of fun..... but all catch and release, caught juvenille pagri, sparli tan nejba, brieqex, flounder, morlin/Arab, bulughdi, gharrajes etc... Thanks to not having worms..... the new bait i used did the trick Wink . have a pic of the Morlin, hope to post it later as its on my sister's camera.

i went squid fishing cirkewwa 2am-6am - no takes
went to gnejna- fly fishing(one small strike but no hook up) and with bezzun for mullet(only small bobin, no hookups) 6.30am-8.30am
went to wied iz zurrieq and caught a variety of small bottom dwelling fish, (lghudi, tird, serran gharrajjes, etc) all released..... 9am-11am

luckily the weather was nice and was in good company......... also tried fly fishing for my very first time....... kif qlajt iddeja..... but its a very cool technique.

what rod and reel were you using as 0.20mm is quite thick for inside a harbour.... personally i use 0.16mm flouro coated for bottom fishing .........

but your rod and reel must be suitable so the line does not break!!! I use them on 2 rods whose action are 4-12g and 15-25g.... main line is 0.20mm flouro coated (c.6kg breaking strain) on size 1000 reels with front drag..... always slightly open....... the leader is 0.16mm flouro coated  (c.3.2kg breaking strain)

As robby said to robby you can't use thin line if the rod is not very soft and you know well how to use the drag.It is very important to use thin line these days and it gives a better challange and usually much more bites.
