I have been fishing for kahli from land for as long as I can remember. I have fished for it nearly all over the island, From Delimara to Golden Bay,anything in between on both sides of the island. I consider it a really big challenge. Most people who fish for kahli will agree with me that it takes a lot of practice and lots and lots of patience, something I always lacked. One thing I can tell you....the last time I managed to get 8 really nice ones was some 10 years ago from Armier.Nowadays you will get a good number of zabri or maybe zabrotti,but catching a nice kahlija is becoming quiet a feat.
Having said all this my advice to you is to find someone who goes to fish for kahli and pay attention to how andwhat he does. The problem as I see it is that these kind of people seems to be so secretive.
But I wish you the best of luck........there is nothing in this world more beautiful than to see the sun coming up,and you sitting all alone on a piece of rock filled with anticipation of doing a good catch. Wish you luck

sam, sent you a pm mate...... with regards to kahli fishing methods i tend to agree that most are secretive about it as nobody ever came to show me how to do it.... had to learn to do it on my own, and thankfully succeeded

On the subject of Kahli unfortunately I cannot share any trade secrets on how to catch it but i can tell you from snorkling in the area that Gnejna bay area (bajja taht l-Mgarr) on the side of the cliffs towards Ghajn Tuffieha must be a good spot as I saw loads of sizeable kahli there this week.
